FUNDAMENTALS OF TOOLING AND KNIFE GRINDING - 7 Video taped lessons presented by Wood Industry Consultant Ed Jerger. Mr. Jerger has extensive hands-on experience in managing wood industry operations. He is a graduate of The University of Rosenheim in Germany where he studied wood technology and industrial engineering. The course is designed for managers, engineers and grinding department personnel. Its objective is to explain the important elements of tooling and knife grinding which influence productivity and the surface quality generated during the wood machining operation. The program focuses on fundamental principles of machining rather than the details of specific techniques. The information presented is directed at machining wood with cutterheads such as moulding and planing applications and does not deal with the specifics of saws, or boring and router bits. The course package includes videos, handout materials and homework assignments (to be reviewed by your in-plant coordinator or used for personal, "self examination" applications.)
