Its objective is to explain the important elements of tooling and knife grinding which influence productivity and the surface quality generated during the wood machining operation. The program focuses on fundamental principles of machining rather than the details of specific techniques. The information presented is directed at machining wood with cutterheads such as moulding and planing applications and does not deal with the specifics of saws, or boring and router bits.
