Presented in this video are a variety of illustrations on how and why wood shrinks, swells and warps. "High speed" photography shows wood changing shape in response to different environmental conditions. The wood cutting process, including the influence of different cutting angles is explained in an extraordinary sequence of video "clips".

WOOD TECHNOLOGY (A course on VIDEO TAPE or DVD which was originally produced at North Carolina State University)- Six video taped lessons which will help your supervisors and engineers better understand how to use wood. This course is "basic training" for anyone trying to competitively produce a "quality" product from wood. The program covers:

* Wood structure and properties
* Wood, water and the
* Shrinkage and swelling environment
* Product design considerations
* Wood products and their application
* Understanding and overcoming wood related problems

The course package includes videos, handout materials and homework assignments (to be reviewed by your in-plant coordinator or used for personal, "self examination" applications.) Each lecture is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in duration.
